Francesca De Luca

Managing Director & Chartered Financial Planner

Francesca is the daughter of the founder of the business, Barry O’Loughlin. After university she worked at large accountancy firm before joining her dad at Hastings O’Loughlin in 2002 and has never looked back.

She became the Managing Director of the business in 2007 and qualified as a Chartered Financial Planner in 2009. She’s now a Fellow of the PFS and specialises in tax planning as well as retirement and investment advice for new and existing clients. She prides herself on the long-standing client relationships she has built and the holistic and long term generational financial planning she has provided over the years.

She lives in Huddersfield with her husband and has a busy family life with four daughters, one working, one off to University and two five year old twins! With so much going on there isn’t a huge amount of free time but she loves spending time socialising with family and friends, going on holiday and enjoying good food and wine.

Susan West

Director & Chartered Financial Planner

Sue joined Hastings O’Loughlin in April 2010 from the financial planning arm of a local accountancy firm. Having been in the industry since 1987 she has seen many changes to financial planning but the most rewarding part of her job remains in dealing with people and finding a solution to their financial concerns. She has many longstanding clients, some of whom she has looked after personally for over 20 years.

She specialises in giving advice on pensions which has become very topical with the introduction of the new “Pensions Freedom” legislation in 2015 and she holds the STEP (Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners) certificate for financial services, working with local professional connections to provide advice to the elderly and their families around the issues of long term care, trusts and inheritance tax planning.

She is a Fellow of the PFS and a Chartered Financial Planner with a range of qualifications which allows her to be a true holistic financial planner to new and existing clients and their families.

She lives in Pudsey with her husband and children. She is kept busy with her (almost) grown family and in her spare time she enjoys walking their dogs, swimming and dancing.

Maureen Vento

Office Manager

Maureen is the office manager and the longest serving member of staff having been with us since 1997 shortly after Barry formed the business. She is often the first point of contact for new and existing clients alike. She takes charge of the running of the office, dealing with enquiries, accounts, payroll and liaising with providers on behalf of the clients. She sees her most important role and the one she takes most pride in as making sure the business run smoothly.

She lives locally with her husband. They have 3 grown up children and 3 grandchildren and she spends her spare time with family and friends, watching her sons play rugby and travelling abroad for sunshine holidays.

Emma Chew

Paraplanner

Emma joined Hastings O’Loughlin in April 2015 as a Paraplanner. Originally from Beverley she has previously worked with a large insurer in Leeds and in London. She decided to return to Yorkshire 8 years ago, working in a firm of advisers and learning the role of Paraplanner. This role involves working closely with Francesca & Susan in preparing the research for the options available to clients and helping to create the formal written reports. She has achieved the Certificate in Financial Planning and is working towards her Diploma in Financial Planning.

She lives locally and enjoys spending her spare time with her partner, friends & family and keeping fit with yoga and going to the gym.

Carolyn Beaumont

Administrator

Carolyn joined us in 2016 in a career change from her previous role as an administrator in a GP surgery. She deals with the various jobs that crop up on a daily basis, general enquiries, existing client valuations and she has become a valued member of the team.
